BUSINESS DAYS AND HOURS

Q:
What is the best way to contact you? Can I email or text you?
A:
The best way to contact us is to call us at (626) 300-5450 at our regular business hours (M-F: 1pm-9pm, Sat-Sun: 8am-4pm). If we are not available to answer your call, leave a message and we will return your call at our earliest opportunity. You may also email us at guitarteacher@hotmail.com. We currently cannot accept text messages.

Q:
You’re opened 7 days a week, but when are you ever closed?
A:
We are closed ever 29th, 30th, and 31st of the month. We are closed on most major holidays and breaks throughout the year and we will provide/have provided verbal and written notices to all students about them in a timely manner. Please call if you are unsure if we’re opened on a particular day or not.

Q:
What are your business hours? Would you be here if I come by anytime during business hours?
A:
Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm. Depending on workload and daily errands, we may be away from the academy at different times each day, so if you would like to come by the office outside your scheduled lesson day and time, we strongly recommend you give us a call beforehand.

LESSONS (Re-scheduled/Make-up/Missed Lessons)

Q:
If my lesson day falls on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of the month, what happens?
A:
No lessons are given on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of the month, so no student ever pays tuition for those days. Despite this, students still receives four, weekly lessons per month.

If your lesson day falls on the 29th, 30th, or 31st of any given month, a two-week span between lessons occur. Simply come in at your usual time the next week and weekly lessons resume again.

Q:
What happens to my lessons on holidays or break?
A:
You will not pay for tuition for lessons that falls on a holiday or during break.  We may give you the option to make-up a lesson on another day and time, if you wish to do so, and tuition will be charged accordingly.

Q:
My schedule changes frequently/is irregular and I won't be able to commit to a day and time.  Can I come in on different days each week?
A:
Although we may make exceptions, almost all students are required to set a day and time for their lessons once a week, every week.  Our scheduled is arranged to accommodate students on a weekly basis, so inform us of any irregular scheduling arrangements you require and we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.

Q:
What are re-scheduled lessons?
A:
Re-scheduled lessons are the ones we’re able to grant students who cannot attend their regularly scheduled day and time on a specific week.  Re-scheduled lessons and make-up lessons (see directly below) have distinctly different meaning for us, but may sometimes be used interchangeably.  We will make clear in detail about which we refer.

Q:
What are make-up lessons?
A:
Make-up lessons are the ones students may have the option of taking on another day if their lesson day lands on a holiday or during break.  Make-up lessons may also refer to lessons granted to students who miss a lesson becasue of emergencies or urgent matters (in these cases, students must talk to us before we consider granting them a make-up lesson).  Although the term has two distinct meanings and may be used interchangeably with 're-scheduled lesson', we will make clear in detail about which we refer.

Q:
What are missed lessons?
A:
Missed lessons are the ones student don’t or can’t attend on their lesson day and time. Missed lessons are usually not eligible for make-up lessons because of various reasons (e.g. no or less than 24-hour notice, lack of available time slots, etc.)

Q:
Can I re-schedule a lesson if I can’t come on my scheduled day and time?
A:
We try our best to re-schedule a lesson, but we cannot make any guarantees.

We may re-schedule a lesson if:

1)You provide us with at least a 24-hour notice of your absence before your lesson day and time.
2)Our weekly schedule allows it
3)You request to re-schedule lesson is made once in a while (we may deny multiple/frequent requests within a short period of time)

Because of the stipulations above, we cannot guarantee any lessons can be re-scheduled, but we will try our best to do so.

Q:
If I give you at least a 24 hour notice of my absence on my lesson day, how long do I have to re-schedule that lesson?
A:
Students have within 7 days to re-schedule from their absent lesson day. (e.g. If your lesson is on Sunday, September 7th, and you want to re-schedule, you’ll have between Monday, September 8th and Sunday, September 14th to do so.)  Re-scheduling a lesson BEFORE an absent lesson day may be allowed on a case by case basis.

To accommodate and maintain fairness to all students, re-scheduling more than 7 days before or more than 7 days after an  absent lesson day is prohibited.

Q:
Can I have somebody else take my lessons?
A:
No, lessons are non-transferable to another person.

Q:
Can I save the lessons as credit and use them at a different time?
A:
No, lessons cannot be used as credit for the future.  Lessons must be taken weekly in the month, quarter, or year for which you paid.

Q:
I can’t/won’t be taking lessons anymore. Do I have to tell you?
A:
Yes, at least a two weeks’ notice is necessary to discontinue lessons.

Q:
If I miss a lesson, can I get a refund for or make-up that lesson?
A:
All sales are final and unfortunately, no refunds can be given for any missed lesson.

Q:
Why can’t I get a refund for or make-up a missed lesson?
A:
When a student pays for tuition, he also gets a chosen day and time that we reserve specifically for him every week.  Despite the student missing that lesson, the time slot is still his, and out of fairness for the instructor and his time, we have to count the lesson and it is subjected to tuition.

Q:
Is there a difference between missed lessons and absences?
A:
In order to avoid confusion, we differentiate the two.  Missed lessons are not eligible for make-up lessons while absences (lessons you “can’t make” or request to re-schedule) may be eligible for make-up lessons. The two terms may be used interchangeably, but distinctions will be made clear when necessary.

TUITION

Q:
When is tuition due?
A:
Tuition is due between the 22nd and 28th of every month for the new month of lessons. (e.g. tuition for lessons in October is due between the 22nd and 28th of September.)  Most students pay on the last lesson of every month out of convenience.

Q:
What if I can’t pay by the 28th? Are there any late fees for late tuition?
A:
If you must pay tuition after the 28th, tuition must be submitted in the form of a check before the 1st of the new month.  Please include the student’s name on the check and make it out to Vez Guitar Academy. The check can either be dropped off in the mail slot of the academy or mailed to us at our address indicated above. If you mail the check, please make sure it is postmarked before the 1st of the month.

Tuition paid on or after the 1st of the month will incur a $25 late fee.
