About Dave

For most of his life, guitarist David Vez has taught numerous individuals how to play and master the guitar, which has now led many to know him as The Premier Guitarist in the San Gabriel Valley.

At age four, David began on what would become his lifelong passion. This wasn’t a simple path however, as he spent countless hours over the years perfecting the methods he has developed and currently teaches. According to one student, David “doesn’t just teach you a bunch of songs that you’ll forget, but he provides you with a knowledge base with the tools necessary to become as good as you want to be.” The only requirement he asks of his students is that “they have a burning desire to learn and apply my techniques and methods.” David techniques and methods is incorporated into his curriculum that is catered to each student individually. As a graduate of Trebas Institute, David received a degree in sound engineering, recording, and music production. The knowledge he has acquired there and from his time at Guitar Institute of Technology in combination with his own creative talent and skill helped David create innovative ways to teach his students.


David has countless experiences not only in teaching, but as well as in performing. He has performed for many high profile guests such as Mayor Tom Bradley, Mayor Ridon, Eddie Albert of Green Acres, and many more. In addition, he also has live performance experience with a group and as a soloist, and has worked with musicians including David Foster, Steve Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Sheena Easton and more.

David’s primary influences are: Al Di Meola, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and Eric Johnson. David is well-versed in many styles of music and can easily accommodate any preferences. Classic Rock, Neo-Classical, Metal, Easy Listening, and Blues are just some of the styles he has taught his students.

David strongly believes in giving back to the students.
